Job Opportunity for recent grads! Applications due Sept 23rd
The Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies is looking to hire in the position of Outreach and Events Coordinator.
Position Responsibilities:
• working with the CLAGS Board Programming Committee and the Executive Director on soliciting and planning events
• soliciting content for and editing biannual CLAGS newsletter
• coordinating events schedule
• promoting events through email and press sources
• managing CLAGS listserve and other electronic media
• attending weekly staff meeting Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Motivation, strong organization skills, attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to organize information
• Can work with Microsoft Word, Excel Desired qualifications:
• Knowledge of the field of sexuality
• Writing or outreach experience
• Experience in events co-ordination
• HTML/Wordpress/ other web competencies

Uganda: Anti-Homosexuality Bill Likely to Pass
A bill introduced in Uganda's legislature to criminalize homosexual behaviour is likely to pass, albeit with some modifications. Christians of various stripes, the world over, have criticized the measure. Ugandans do not want laws promoting homosexuality.

New Jersey Gay Marriage Bill Fails To Pass
New Jersey's state Senate has defeated a bill to legalize gay marriage, leaving it unlikely the state will have a gay marriage law in the very near future.
